OUR MISSION

The Citadel is an inter-denominational Christian mission, established in 2003 in Greensboro, NC that has impacted upon many people beyond the four walls of a church.  Persons from various denominational backgrounds comprise the Citadel family.  In short we have sponsored a plethora of community programs to impact hunger, homelessness, lost-ness, youth mentorship and leadership development, to name a few.   Perhaps, the Citadel’s most impactful extension of ministry is our Campus Ministry that has led more than 3000 students to Christ in the most recent years.

We are PURSUING a dynamic RELATIONSHIP with the LORD, attracting and LEADING THE UNSAVED to JESUS, challenging each CHRISTIAN to dedicate oneself to THE MINISTRY with the love of God at the center of all we do.

Despite the impact upon thousands of college students, The Citadel doesn't have a consistent place of power.  We have moved multiple times in 3 years.

Our journey to provide community ministry, has been challenging.  However, providing campus ministry, has been even more so exacting, for us and other campus ministry efforts across the country.  Campus police have disrupted our student bible studies and worship services are not encouraged.  With that being the case, our primary challenge has been to secure a permanent place.

Unlike most ministries, we do not have the traditional tithing and giving base of employed parishioners.

Our congregation consists of 98% college students.  Of that number, less than 10% work part or full time jobs

We have been a mobile church since 2012.  Securing space has been a consistent issue since that time.   At times, our determination resulted to holding outdoor meetings and services.

What will be the appropriate solution to our problem?  To secure a place where our unique ministry can exist near the campuses that we serve.  Therefore, we have instituted The Citadel Capital Campaign (C3), to raise one million dollars to purchase property that suits the goals and focuses of our ministries and foundation.

The vision for the Campus Ministry Complex will house:

  • The Second Chance Academy for students who have been expelled from tradition school

  • Night Court, a midnight basketball league

  • Word On Wednesday collegiate bible study

  • The Kingdom University seminary program, that will award accredited degrees through our university partnership as well as ministerial training

These programs are all in addition to a plethora of other active-initiatives that fall under the parent covering of The Citadel of Praise, Inc.

The Citadel Capital Campaign (C3) is our fundraiser to purchase a place, near the campuses that we serve, for campus ministry.  Research reveals that youth and young adults are the most underserved population in churches.  Even with limited resources, we are changing those statics every week.  And we want to do more.

WHY IS THE CITADEL'S PLAN SO UNIQUE?

While there are many “building funds” for churches in America, there aren’t many that focus on securing space to reach, raise and redeem the waning population of youth and young adults for Christ; on college campuses, that aren’t funded by schools. Even more so, there isn’t one (that we have found) at a Historically Black College and University campus.  We are still looking.

However, we aren’t concerned with being the first inasmuch as we are concerned with being.  Please, give now or pledge now.
